BPA Membership and Website Registration

Website Member - Registration to the British Paranormal Association website is FREE, you can join by Clicking Here which will then allow you to enter and view more of the site contents. Therefore this doesnt mean you are signup to become a member of the British Paranormal Association you are just signing into the site.

New updates - When registering with the British Paranormal Association for your free account In order to help you and others know which club or group your are from , you will need to displace you clubs initials and then your name, I.E for instance the Eastbouren Spiritual Psychics becomes ESP-Name. This is only to help you and other members know who we are chatting or disgusting topics with.

Joining as a BPA Member - Should you and your paranormal organisation wish to join the BPA in an official capacity, please use our 'Contact Forms' The British Paranormal Association welcomes you and looks forward to your valuable input.

Summary of types of membership

The BPA has two different procedures for two types of membership. The membership is divided into (Opt-In or Opt-Out) you pick and choose the one that will be best suited to you. The difference between them it how involved you and your Non Commercial club or Commercial club would like to be seen with offering you help and support to the BPA.

Opt-In

This is for Non Commercial clubs or Commercial clubs that are wishing to offer their full support whereby working and complying with Code of Ethics & our Rules of Terms: The Association is here for you whereby all our members are all working together by offering their support and suggestions and advice and helping on projects for the BPA and members. In order to make this work member that Opt-In members must be seen to be offering their help.

New changes to be added in 2008 A Members points system will be introduce whereby the more involved you become with the Opt-In, the more you will be offered from the BPA. This subject has been discussed many times now by members that are offering their full support and others seem to keep their distance are getting the same benefits, making it unfair to those that are committed to helping the BPA.

This is for None Commercial clubs or Commercial clubs and even website members that are looking for help or support and offering your advice. As a member that Opt-Out your suggestion and views are also taken aboard, you can offer your help at your own free will therefore at any time you can upgrade to Opt-In to be more involved.

When joining you will be provided with a badge logo to place on your home page that will then have to link back to the BPA website, all member from the British Paranormal Association will carry a badge logo, each badge will contain its own unique reference number and this will show the public they also believe in the same rules of conduct and code of ethics.

From there members of the public will have the option to confirm the group is in fact whom they claim to be, and if they are members of the BPA. If you find a website or group proclaiming to be a member of the BPA, when in fact they are not, then please report them straight away via our contact forums.

Whats the difference between website members and certified members?

Website members are those whom participate in on-line activities, this does not mean they form part of the BPA in any capacity. Website membership is free to all.

Certified members are individuals, groups or locations whom sign up to be official members of the UKBPA, they believe in what we stand for and wish to also make a difference, they will display our official badge on the home page of their website(s) along with copies of the following to confirm their participation within our association:-

When applying to join the BPA you will be sent an email that will contain a form for you to complete and return back to us, we can then start processing your details into the members database You will be placed on hold until your form has been processed by one of our admin. Process time will depend on the amount of forms or enquiries that the admin are dealing with; therefore if you have not had a reply with in 7 working days please contact the admin with your Ref-Number and details.

Therefore you deicide which one you feel you are before signing up to become a member , you may also change your status at any point in the future.

Commercial & None Commercial

The differentiate between commercial and none commercial a commercial group will be one that make money therefore and must be registered as a business or sole trader, a not-for-profit group which take funds either from donations or investigations or any other means must be registered as a not-for-profit group and possibly have a registered charity number either way you are accountable for your funds.

None Commercial

A non-commercial group would be one that neither takes money or chargers for people to attend, the will also take no donations, if they do then they could fall under a not-for-profit organisation or charity and as such should be registered to do so A non-commercial group may however split the cost of entrance to a location, or snacks on location, they may also pool funds for shared equipment, however they must not profit from this in any form.
